![]() Natural weight lossIs there any such thing as 'natural weight loss'? Well, yes, there must be, because how the body works must be 'natural' by definition. Look at the other side of the coin - That would be 'natural weight gain', wouldn't it? And we all know how well that works! But think about this: weight gain isn't immediate. You don't wake up one morning to find that you've gained 100 pounds (or however many it might be). It happened over an extended period. Don't Be Too Impatient!It might not suit our needs emotionally, but it makes plain sense that the way to get lasting weight loss is the opposite to how we achieved lasting weight gain. Gradually... Of course, you're impatient. It's only natural. You've decided to do something about the shape you're in, and you want it to happen now! But, let's consider - which would make you happier?

Weight Loss Can Be Bad For YouIf you lose 'weight', some of what you lose may be muscle. That means your body burns less calories every day, and you're likely to find it easier to put on weight in future - and harder to lose it! Surely, that is something you should avoid at all costs? Whereas, if you lose only body fat, then you preserve your lean muscle and protect your metabolism (the rate at which you burn calories - including fat). How do you lose only body fat?By being methodical about how you eat and exercise (and how you think). If you go at weight loss 'hammer and tongs' and in a haphazard way, then the results will be haphazard (at best) or detrimental to your future health (at worst).
