Weight Loss Article 1 -

'Slicing Through The Noise'

by Nev Dodds

Nowadays, it seems like weight loss is the new 'El Dorado'. At any rate, most people seem to be searching for it!

What's on offer

On the Internet, just about every fifth page you encounter contains those dreaded words 'weight loss' in some combination. Everyone is looking to achieve weight loss, preferably by using a method that offers a "quick and easy" way to achieve it.

That's understandable… who wouldn't want a 'magic weight loss pill'? That would be great, no argument... You could just carry on eating as you do now and not worry about exercise at all. Just pop the pill and everything's taken care of…

"Great - hand me another choccy bar!"

If only life were like that...

Not that there aren't plenty of weight loss pills out there, of course. Where there's a demand, there's always a supply. Pity they don't work in the long term then, isn't it? Leastways, if there are some that do, none of the folk I talk to seem to have discovered them yet!

What you really need...

... is an effective weight loss program.

Not just a typical, jargon-packed, faddy weight-loss diet, that promises 'fast weight loss' or 'quick weight loss' or even 'easy weight loss'. Of course, those terms are chosen specifically to tempt the unwary or the desperate - but it's a cruel trick to play on people when they're vulnerable.

There are lots of 'entrepreneurs' who are looking to trademark some spurious weight loss product and market it. Even when the product turns out - as most inevitably do - to be less than wonderful, there'd be a lot of money in the bank before word got out.

But, you know all this, really - so, why not choose a proper program? One that can put together all the elements you need to lose that weight - but also help you keep it off! (That's the trickiest thing to achieve).

Weight Loss Confusion

Trouble is, there's a lot of weight loss information out there, but it's contradictory and confusing, don't you find? You need something to cut through all the flim-flam and tell the truth. Something that could help those desperate enough to contemplate weight loss surgery, and also those who just want to lose a few pounds and look good on the beach next summer - plus, of course, everyone in between!

What's required could probably be described as a 'best weight loss program'. Something that you can customise to suit you and your particular circumstances. NOT some mumbo-jumbo, one-size-fits-all weight loss empty promise!

You need something that will produce natural weight loss, not some temporary reduction of body fluid from a dubious (and expensive) weight loss drug or supplement. Or, worse still, some calorie-deficient starvation regime that strips the lean muscle off your body and leaves you looking (and feeling) tired and wasted! (And with a permanently slowed-down metabolism!)

Healthy weight loss is what's necessary if you want to keep those pounds off.

If you lose weight on a micro-diet (a 'crash' diet), it'll just pile back on in a few months' time. I know all about that - I've been there, and so, too, have lots of the people I've helped!

Here's a free weight loss tip (and it might be the most important one you ever read...)

  • Admit to yourself that yo-yo dieting over the years hasn't helped.

If you can do that, you'll have taken the first step along the road to long-term success in your weight loss efforts.

And a second free weight loss tip?

Okay - let's 'tell it like it is', for a change! What you want to achieve is fat loss. 'Weight' means nothing. You could lose 5 pounds by tomorrow and it might be mainly water loss. Take onboard some liquid and the weight's all back with you! And so is that depressive feeling of helplessness.

That's 'weight loss' for you - you don't know what you're losing, so you can't be sure that you are achieving anything worthwhile.

Measure the Right Thing

If you can measure actual fat loss, then you know you're making progress.

I'll tell you how to do that in my second weight loss article, which shows you how to start an effective weight loss program.
